A Virginia jury reached a verdict Wednesday in the case of a former University of Virginia lacrosse player accused of murdering his girlfriend Yeardley Love, FOX News reported, finding him guilty of second-degree murder.
The jury deliberated for about nine hours Wednesday before announcing they had reached the guilty verdict.

WASHINGTON — Three congressional offices received threatening letters containing a powdery substance, officials said Wednesday, warning that more could be on the way.
Initial testing of the letters found that the powdery substance tested negative for containing a bio-agent, but a Capitol Hill official said subsequent letters may contain harmful materials.

Just when you thought one reality was enough … get ready for “extra” reality. The New York Times reported today that Google – who won’t confirm the story – is preparing to release a pair of glasses that would stream information in real time … right to your eyeballs.
According to the article, the glasses would look similar to a pair of Oakleys, but would have a tiny screen that would display an overlay of information on top of whatever you’re looking at. For example, glance at a restaurant and immediately see a pop-up of a review for that specific restaurant.

Press Secretary Jay Carney said, “This particular action by Iran suggests that they have not changed their behavior when it comes to abiding by their international obligations.”

Shelling by government forces in Syria has killed Remi Ochlik, a French photographer, and Marie Colvin, an American-born war correspondent who spent the last two decades reporting from some of the world’s most dangerous conflicts for Britain’s The Sunday Times. The two died in the city of Homs, which is at the heart of uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Colvin and Ochlik were killed when a shell hit the house where they were staying. (More…)

Ash Wednesday is when Christians all over the world welcome the start of Lent, the holiest period of Christianity. It is over these next few weeks that Christians prepare their hearts, minds and bodies for what defines their faith.
Today Catholics, and some Protestants, receive ashes on their foreheads in the sign of the cross, as a symbol of penance and conversion. The ashes are usually from the burnt palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday marks the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem just a few days before his arrest and trial.

The U.S. embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan is on lockdown today as deadly anti-American protests threaten American forces in the capital city. Fox News correspondent Conor Powell is in Kabul and reported on America’s Newsroom about the violence, calling it “one of the most serious challenges U.S. troops face here in Afghanistan.”
He described the scene, saying, “Mid-morning protestors began gathering in different parts of Kabul. That quickly turned into violent riots, not only here in Kabul but in other cities. At least four people were killed, a dozen more were injured.”

Saturday’s arrest of Dennis Fleming, a New Hampshire grandfather of 14, has drummed up quite a bit of controversy.
Fleming says that after his own home was burglarized earlier in the day, he spotted a man coming out of his neighbor’s window. He took his gun and he fired a shot into the ground to scare the suspect, and then he held the man at gunpoint until the police arrived. No one was hurt but the police charged Fleming with reckless conduct.
