Meme Roth, founder of the group National Action Against Obesity joined Megyn Kelly to have a friendly debate about the war on soda!
Gavin Newsom (D-CA), mayor of San Francisco, banned the sale of all soda products on government property in the city. Why, you ask? Well, apparently the sugary drinks are too unhealthy for city employees and are adding to medical costs across the state. However, this didn’t stop Megyn from downing some soda during the broadcast!
Megyn said that she knows the risks and the effects of drinking calorie-filled sodas … but that it’s her choice to drink or not to drink, if that be the question. Meme, on the other hand, brought up the point that over $41 billion in government tax revenue is devoted to obesity related costs.
So, where do you stand? Can the government tell us what to eat or drink if it helps save tax payer dollars down the line?
