Bell, CA Residents Voice Their Anger at City Officials

Shepard just reported on the outraged citizens in the small town of Bell, California. People there are letting their voices be heard after learning from a newspaper report that some city officials are receiving astronomical salaries.

Citizens voiced their anger at last night’s City Council meeting, shouting things like:

“You should all be in jail!”, “Do the city a favor and resign!”, and “Get out.”

The newspaper reportedly stated that city officials were earning a combined salary of $1.6 million. A little much for this down economy? For example, Trace Gallagher told us that the police chief of Bell was earning well over $450k, which is almost double or triple the salary police chiefs in most major U.S. cities earn.

City Council members have now agreed to cut some of their salaries by 90%, but three officials have already resigned.
