Former all-star pitcher Roger Clemens is getting ready to hear federal charges against him. The prosecutors are saying the “Rocket” lied to Congress about using steroids. The Fox News Brainroom has the timeline of Clemens’ alleged steroid use:
Summer 1998: McNamee injects Clemens with steroids for the first time, according to McNamee testimony
August or September 2000: McNamee injects Clemens with steroids and HGH, according to testimony
August 2001: McNamee injects Clemens with steroids again, according to McNamee’s testimony
Dec. 13, 2007: Clemens is named in the Mitchell Report as a performance-enhancing drug user
Feb. 13, 2008: Clemens tells a Congressional panel he never has used steroids or HGH
Feb. 27, 2008: House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform asks Justice Department to investigate if Clemens lied
January 2009: A federal grand jury is convened to determine whether Clemens should be indicted
Aug. 12, 2010: A federal appeals court refuses to reinstate Clemens’ defamation lawsuit against McNamee
Aug. 19, 2010: A federal grand jury hands down a six-count indictment against Clemens
