President Obama Making His Christian Faith More Public
Chris Wallace just reported during “The Grapevine” that President Obama, who in the past has been private about his religious practices, now seems to be making an increased effort to show that he is Christian.
You may remember the Pew survey from last August showing the number of Americans who think Obama is a Christian declined from 47 percent to 34 percent over the last two years.
So this past Sunday, the president and his family attended church in his home state of Hawaii, making it the president’s second visit to church since September. Chris also noted that the president has also increased the frequency with which he quotes of passages from the bible at non-religious events.
Consequently, White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton told Politico that the president "has consistently talked about his Christian faith, and the role of faith in America, over the course of his public life."
