Huma Abedin is 34 years old.

She is an American Muslim; Abedin speaks fluent Arabic.

Was born to two professors in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

She moved with her Indian father and Pakistani-born mother to Saudi Arabia when she was two.

She returned to the United States to attend George Washington University.

Abedin was hired as a staff assistant in the Clinton White House, working with First Lady Hillary Clinton from 1996-2000.

She’s currently a top aide/adviser to now Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and has been since January 2009.

Huma and Weiner met when Hillary Clinton ran for Senate in 2000, but did not start dating until the former First Lady ran for president 2008.

Abedin married Congressman Anthony Weiner in July 2010 in a ceremony led by former President Bill Clinton.

Time Magazine named Abedin to its list of rising stars of American politics, “40 Under 40″.
