Oregon Hiker Found Healthy After 4 Day Search
An Oregon hiker who went missing in the wilderness was found Wednesday morning after a frantic four day search. A helicopter crew found and rescued 28-year-old Pamela Salant out of Mt. Hood National Forest. She said she ate berries and bugs and drank from a creek to survive.
Fox News Channel was there for the phone call when Salant’s mother got the good news of her daughter’s survival. She said she felt as if “a big huge weight has been lifted of [her] shoulders” and that this is the first time she’s stopped shaking in 48 hours.
Salant is reported to be in serious condition at an Oregon hospital with a possible broken leg but she is expected to be completely fine.
