Spartanburg, South Carolina Sheriff Chuck Wright Wants Women to Carry a Gun to Defend Themselves

A sheriff in Spartanburg, South Carolina is suggesting that women carry a gun in order to defend themselves. Sheriff Chuck Wright said the idea was provoked by the arrest of a suspect accused of attempted rape. The suspect had been in and out of jail over 20 times.

Earlier, Sheriff Chuck Wright sat down with Jenna Lee. He said, “I feel that a lady, that is a good upstanding citizen in the community, should arm themselves if they fit the qualifications of our laws and I certainly think they should be trained with it.”
