Highway patrol officers say a California man snatched a park ranger’s SUV in the middle of a traffic stop and lead police on a high-speed chase.

Apparently, the rangers pulled over two suspects for driving a stolen vehicle north of Los Angeles. When they handcuffed one of the suspects and put her in the SUV, the other suspect is said to have hopped in the driver’s seat and taken off. Officers say he hit dangerous speeds during the chase, which lasted about half an hour

The driver finally pulled over and was apparently hurt. Police took him to a local hospital.
