Jenna Lee Investigates Scene Where Possible Long Island Serial Killer Left Body of Victim

Jenna Lee went to the scene where Gilbert was found to interview former NYPD Homicide Detective Pat Brosnan about the case.

Shannan Gilbert was found dead along the side of a quiet road in Long Island, New York last year. In searching for her, authorities discovered 10 other bodies, leading them to believe a possible serial killer is on the loose.

“She performed a ‘trick’ as prostitute, she fled, from what we know as a factual matter … she was running and talking on the phone for a minimum of 23 minutes, because that was a live 911 tape,” Brosnan said. “Somewhere during the time that she ran and the time that she was crying on he phone, and the other day they found her, she died.”

Lee also went to the exact spot where Gilbert was found to describe the thick brush off the side of the road, noting how hard it would be to run from an assailant.

While there are many unanswered questions to this case, Gilbert’s autopsy results are due out today, which might shed more light on answers. Stay tuned for more reports.
