Possible Nationwide Manhunt for Convicts Pardoned by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour

State Attorney General Jim Hood says he may have to order a nationwide manhunt to track down prisoners, pardoned by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. The outgoing governor made over 200 pardons before leaving office this past week. Now it seems five of those men did not meet the requirements needed before being pardoned.

Four of those men were convicted killers and another man was serving life for multiple robberies. Hood said in an interview, “There’s grave danger, we have murderers out there. They got nothing to lose if they think they’re going back to jail. We give the governor of our state the powers of the king to release people.”

After review of the public notices, officials say they are certain these five did meet the requirements under Mississippi’s Constitution. Today on America’s Newsroom, correspondent Catherine Herridge took a closer look at who these men are and the crimes they committed.
