A Virginia jury reached a verdict Wednesday in the case of a former University of Virginia lacrosse player accused of murdering his girlfriend Yeardley Love, FOX News reported, finding him guilty of second-degree murder.
The jury deliberated for about nine hours Wednesday before announcing they had reached the guilty verdict.
George Huguely was accused of smashing in his girlfriend’s bedroom door, beating her head against a wall and leaving her alone to die. He was charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, robbery, burglary, statutory burglary and grand larceny. Jurors have, however, convicted him of second-degree murder in the case.
