VIDEO: Megyn Kelly’s Full Interview With Mitt Romney
Mitt Romney joined Megyn Kelly today to discuss the latest in the race for 2012.
He addressed a new Bloomberg poll that shows that he is leading President Obama among Independent voters, saying, “President Obama has convinced us that we’ve got to get him out of office, and the key will be to get Independent voters, Hispanic voters, women voters to come together and support us as well. I believe if I’m the nominee, I can get that job done and we can finally get President Obama out of office.”
He also commented on criticism from fellow GOP nominees, including Newt Gingrich’s statement after the Mississippi and Alabama primaries that that he was a weak front runner. Romney laughed off the criticism, saying, “If I’m a weak frontrunner, what does that make Newt Gingrich?”
He continued, saying, “I’m very pleased with the fact that over the last several contests, I’ve earned a million more votes than has either Senator Santorum or Speaker Gingrich from the Republicans in these contests.”
When asked if Gingrich should get out of the race, Romney said it wasn’t his place to say and that it’s Gingrich’s decision to make.
Romney addressed what some consider gaffes he’s made in referencing his wealth while on the campaign trail, saying, “I made a lot of money. I’ve been very successful. I’m not going to apologize for that.”
