Saints Coach Sean Payton Suspended For a Year For Bounty Program

NEW YORK -- The NFL has suspended New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton for a year as punishment for the team's payment of cash bonuses to defensive players for hits that injured opponents, ESPN reported.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis received an eight-game suspension, and the team was fined $500,000.
Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who
is now with the Rams, will be suspended indefinitely.
The team will also be forced to surrender a second round draft pick in 2012 and 2013.
