VIDEO: GSA Official Pleads 5th Amendment in Hearings on Spending Scandal
GSA Regional Administrator Jeff Neely took the stand in the GSA hearings taking place today on Capitol Hill. Neely pleaded the 5th Amendment for every answer asked by House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa.
In a series of questions from Rep. Issa, including a general introductory question in which the chairman asked Neely, "Are you prepared to answer any questions here today about your participation in the 2010 western regional conference," Neely responded by saying, "Mr. Chairman, I respectfully decline to answer any questions here today based upon my 5th Amendment constitutional privilege."
