"Feeding Tube Diet" Promises That Brides-To-Be Can Lose 20 Pounds in 10 Days
A new diet is making weighty promises to those looking to kick some pounds ... and fast. We're talking 20 lbs in 10 days, fast. But, it comes at a hefty price, costing up to $1,500 for 10 sessions.
The controversial diet involves a doctor inserting a feeding tube through the nose to the stomach, which conveys 800 calories of
nutrition per day. Dr. Richard Firshein told Megyn Kelly that the diet consists of protein and fat, ultimately putting the body into a state of ketosis.
"Unfortunately, it can lead to a lot of other problems," Dr. Firshein said, "including dehydration, electrolyte loss, and potential problems like kidney stones."
"Not to mention it's disgusting," added Megyn Kelly.
