Woman Charged After Allegedly Shooting Young Mother, Snatching Her 3-Day-Old Baby
A woman is now facing charges in a horrific crime in Texas. Verna McClain has been charged with murdering a young mother just outside her doctor’s office and then taking off with the woman’s three-day-old infant. Fortunately, the baby has since been found alive.
Heather Childers provided more details on the shocking story. In Spring, Texas, about twenty miles north of Houston, 28-year-old Kala Marie Golden had just left the pediatrician’s office with her son, Keegan.
Witnesses say that the suspect was parked in a car next to Golden’s pickup truck. The two began to argue, then as many as seven shots were fired. The infant was snatched and the suspect sped away, hitting the dying mother as she tried to reach into the vehicle while screaming, “My baby.”

McClain is said to be a nurse with three children of her own. She had reportedly recently told her sister that she was in the process of adopting a child.
The baby was found unharmed in the suspect’s home. He is expected to be reunited with his father soon.
