Touching Story: 6-Year-Old Raises $10,000 for Cancer-Stricken Dad
Drew Cox, a Texas 6-year-old, started a lemonade stand to help pay his family’s medical bills. His father is battling a rare form of cancer.
Of the stand, the little boy said, “I just did it because I just want to help him with his money, to help him pay off his bills.”
Drew’s father, Randy, reacted, saying, “It’s nice knowing that my kids care so much for me. It’s also hard to help them understand that I am sick and that I can’t do as much with them.”
The community has clearly been touched by the story – the family reports that the lemonade stand earned over $10,000 last weekend.
