Couple Demands Apology From Sports Announcer Who Called Them 'Greedy' for Keeping Foul Ball From Crying Toddler
A soon-to-be married couple in Texas aren't getting the wedding present they'd hoped for leading up to their big day after a sports announcer called them out while on-air during a Yankees game. The couple caught a foul ball and celebrated their good fortune, while a toddler sitting next to them started crying because he, too, wanted the ball. The couple says they didn't even realize that the child was upset.
Sports announcer Michael Kay said of the couple, who kissed in celebration after the catch, "Look at the greedy people next to him. 'Oh, let's make out. We've got our ball.'"
Now, the couple
wants an apology from Kay, saying they and everyone who knows them know they never would have kept the ball from the youngster if they'd realized he was upset.
Even the mother of the child spoke out, saying that she and her husband spoke to the couple during the game before they'd heard Kay's remarks and that the couple told them they would give the boy the ball.
As for Kay? He says he's not apologizing. Baseball's a tough game, kids.
