Leonard Nimoy Reflects on Landing of Space Shuttle Enterprise
Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock on Star Trek, is at JFK Airport awaiting the historical landing of the space shuttle Enterprise.
Nimoy said, “This is a reunion for me because we, the Star Trek cast, were at the rollout when the Enterprise first came out of its hanger in 1976. I haven’t seen the ship since then.”
He talked about the letter-writing campaign started by Star Trek fans that convinced President Ford to name the ship the Enterprise.
