Amanda Sheek, the mother of a marine killed while serving in Afghanistan, reacted to President Obama’s speech Tuesday night. She said, “It’s time for this to be over. Eleven years is a long time.”
Sheek became emotional when reflecting on the loss of her son, who died five months ago. She said, “Mother’s Day is coming and he won’t be here physically, but I know I’ll be okay.”
