VIDEO: 80-Year-Old Grandma Slips Out of Harness While Skydiving, Says ‘I Just Held On’
While attempting to skydive in celebration of her 80th birthday, one grandma faced a terrifying surprise when she slipped out of her harness as she was plummeting at 125 miles per hour. Seconds earlier, she was reportedly pleading with the instructor to not go through with it.
In the newly released video, you can see Laverne Everette change her mind and begin pushing back screaming, “No, no I don’t want to go.” As the instructor pushes her back and out into the sky, Trace Gallagher reports that you can see her begin to dangle.
Fortunately, Everette landed safely and when she discussed the frightening experience, she said, “I just held on.
You do what you got to do, you know? … Put yourself in my position, I think you’d be holding on too.”
Gallagher reports that the FAA is investigating the parachute center in northern California because four people have died sky diving there in the past three years and because there have been $900,000 worth of fines at this one center.
