GSA Scandal Grows: Stay-at-Home Officials Reimbursed $750k For Travel Expenses
The House Oversight Committee says the GSA paid $750,000 in travel expenses for about 95 officials working from home. Even former GSA official Jeff Neely who was exposed for using taxpayer money for personal expenses, was surprised by this number as he expressed in internal emails. He wrote to a colleague, “OMG…well this is a fine mess we’ve gotten ourselves into.”
GOP chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to the GSA saying, “The fact that the excessive travel reimbursements shocked Jeffrey Neely
… speaks volumes.”
