Fmr. Butler Paul Burrell Honors Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee With Martha MacCallum

As Britain celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, Martha MacCallum has the honor of being there to report on the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former butler, told Martha that not only is England celebrating the jubilee, but they are celebrating a woman who has given up her life to serve her people. Burrell described her as remarkable and said,

“[Queen Elizabeth II] really is the figurehead of this country … It’s quite astonishing today to think that our Queen is still out there and people revere her.”

Burrell foresees Prince William getting really close to his grandmother to learn the future of the monarchy from her so that one day he can follow in her footsteps. He believes this celebration shows the beginning of that future for Great Britain.

He said, “This is her life, really, passing before our eyes on the water.”
