Space Shuttle Enterprise Embarks on Final Journey in New York City
The Space Shuttle Enterprise is on its final journey as it travels by sea from New York City’s JFK Airport to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Anna Kooiman reported live from the Jamaica Bay next to the Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge which is one of three bridges that Enterprise will be passing under on its three-day water ride.
Tug boats will pull the space shuttle past Queens and Brooklyn today to New Jersey. By Tuesday, it will pass
by the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade Center before reaching the Intrepid on the Hudson River. Space Shuttle Enterprise was named after a fictional starship from the television series Star Trek.
