DEBATE: Should Florida Mom Be Jailed for Choking Her Daughter’s Alleged Bully?
A Florida mother was arrested on child abuse charges after surveillance video reportedly shows her grabbing and choking a 14-year-old boy at a local mall. The mother, Debbie Piscatella, claims she assaulted the boy because he was bullying and harassing her daughter on Facebook. Piscatella also claims she contacted the school and police about this bullying problem, and said they did nothing to help with the situation. Click here for more.
During an interview on “Good Morning America,” Piscatella said, “It’s my daughter, you know, the nasty things he was saying about her … there’s things that I can’t even say on TV because they are so vulgar. It got to me. What really, really did it was when she was so upset about it, you know, she wanted to hurt herself and that to me, as a parent, seeing my daughter like that, really angered me.”
Later, the accused bully called into a local radio show in Tampa, Florida and said that Piscatella’s daughter was the one that provoked him first by calling his girlfriend fat.

Mercedes Colwin and Mark Eiglarsh weighed in on this case on today’s America Live.
Colwin reports that the boy wrote on Piscatella’s daughter’s Facebook page that she was so ‘fat and ugly that he wouldn’t rape her.’
“If all the facts are laid out for the jury, I think the jury’s going to say ‘I would do the exact same thing.’” Colwin added, “Maybe it’s not right under the law, but it’s something I would do.”
Eiglarsh feels for this mother but said, “I would probably want to ring the kid’s neck, but I would stop.” He went on to say that there is no legal defense for this type of violence, saying, “This cannot take place.”
Colwin thinks the alleged bully should be put in a courtroom and put under oath because she believes the story might change.
