Texas Gov. Rick Perry Issues Statement on Scott Walker's Victory in Wisconsin
Gov. Rick Perry today released the following statement regarding Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s recall election victory:
"Gov. Walker’s victory tonight is a major triumph for the people of Wisconsin and the leaders with the courage to defy the status quo and make the tough decisions necessary to rein in government spending and jump-start job creation.
Gov. Walker understands that his state’s long-term success depends on controlling spending, and he kept his word by tackling this issue as he said he’d do when he ran for office and won
the first time. He is successfully addressing much-needed pension reforms, and prioritizing state policies in the best interests of all his constituents, not just a specific group, creating a more favorable climate for jobs and opportunity.
Anita and I congratulate Gov. Walker, his family and his campaign for their victory tonight, and wish them all the best as he continues to pursue the policies and principles that will put Wisconsin on a path to prosperity."
