NEW YORK -- US stocks rose sharply higher Wednesday, lifting the Dow Jones Industrial Average back into positive territory for the year, as pressure mounted on policymakers to come up with additional stimulus.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher by more than 280 points, or 2.3 percent.
