Supreme Court Rejects Appeals for Release From Guantanamo Detainees
The United States Supreme Court denied a request to review the cases of select detainees fighting their treatment and detention at Gitmo, siding with the Obama administration.
For the 59 detainees that asked the court to review their cases, 32 were ordered to be released, 27 were ordered to be kept in prison. However, none of the 32 have yet been released. Appeals were taken to the Circuit Court of Appeals, which invalidated the release orders; the request then moved on to the Supreme Court, which also said "no."
