Michelle Malkin Blasts Republicans Who Have Come Out in Support of Obamacare’s "Slacker Mandate"

The Supreme Court is set to rule on the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care law any day now, and as the decision nears, Michelle Malkin says that some Republicans have now come out in support of parts of the law.

On Fox and Friends this morning, she specifically cited Republican Senator Roy Blunt who has come out in favor of preserving the “popular” provisions of the law, including what Malkin refers to as the “slacker mandate,” which allows kids under the age of 26 to be covered by their parents insurance.

“This is the heart of the coercion of socialized medicine,” Malkin said. “Who needs enemies when you have these people making noises like this.”

She detailed that the “slacker mandate” has increased premiums. “And when you increase premiums,” Malkin said, “you kick hundreds of thousands of people off insurance coverage every year.”

UPDATE: The Fox News Insider received the following statement from Senator Blunt's spokesperson clarifying his position on the health care law.

"Senator Blunt has unequivocally opposed ObamaCare since it was first introduced. He voted against the bill, he led efforts to repeal the law in the House, and he continues to fight in the Senate to repeal and replace it with common-sense, bipartisan solutions to lower costs and increase care for Missourians. One of the health care solutions that Senator Blunt supports includes allowing young people up to age 26 to stay on their parents’ health insurance, which would help cover more Americans while managing costs. Senator Blunt does not support expensive so-called fixes to the donut hole or federally-mandated coverage for pre-existing conditions." - Amber Marchand, Spokeswoman for U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.)
