Will President Obama Face Questioning in Security Leak Investigation?
In 2004, President George W. Bush was interrogated about the Valerie Plame scandal after he appointed a special counsel to investigate the leak. But, will President Obama sit down for an interrogation in order to get to the bottom of recent national security leaks? When Senior Adviser to the President David Plouffe was asked just that on Fox News Sunday, he said, “I’m not going to answer his particular involvement right now, Chris, ok?”
Peter Johnson, Jr. weighed in on Fox and Friends, saying that because this is an election year, “the president will not be interrogated before the election.”
Johnson said the focus should not be on the election, but on the fact that these were serious security leaks. “The leaks came out of this administration. Mr. Plouffe and the White House administration should be down on their knees begging for forgiveness of the American people, say, ‘Listen, somebody screwed up. We’re going to get to the bottom of this.’”
