Judge Napolitano on AZ Immigration Law Ruling: “This is a Victory for the White House”
During Studio B, Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in on Governor Jan Brewer’s remarks on the SCOTUS ruling of Arizona’s Immigration Law.
Napolitano said, “I’m not sure what the governor was claiming victory about other than perhaps for the political benefit of a politician declaring victory."
He continued, “If police can only inquire about your immigration status after they have stopped or arrested you for another non-immigration defense and if the feds are not going to receive you from the cops if you are in violation of the federal immigration law, then really nothing was accomplished from the Arizona point of view.”
In the big picture, Napolitano said this means that immigration is exclusively a federal area of regulation. He added, “This is a victory for the White House.”
