Former Mistress Rielle Hunter Tells 'Good Morning, America' That She and John Edwards Are 'No Longer a Couple'
Well, all things must come to an end ... and such is the case, it would seem, for John Edwards and his former mistress Rielle Hunter. Hunter is also the mother of their young daughter, who the two are raising together. Edwards recently beat charges that he hid his relationship with Hunter thanks to campaign donations, which went against federal elections law.
On today's 'Good Morning, America,' Hunter
told George Stephanopoulos, "We are a family, but as of [the] end of last week, John Edwards and I are no longer a couple."
Hunter wouldn't comment on Edwards's reasoning in the breakup, only saying, "For me, for my part in it, it's because I'm no longer interested in hiding." Stephanopoulos, a bit confused by the answer, asked for clarification on what she meant. "Hiding our relationship," she responded.
In addition, Hunter's new tell-all book, "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me," was released today.
