Activists Say 800 People Killed in Syria in the Past Week
New amateur video taken in Damascus, Syria supposedly shows video of a funeral procession being attacked by Assad forces. Syria’s main opposition group claims 800 people have been killed in just the last week and are mostly attributed to military helicopters. Greg Palkot reported from Damascus, the capital city where activists are saying yesterday’s attack was a car bomb that blew up during the funeral procession.
Palkot said he was told at least 40 people were killed and many more injured. Much of that anti-regime area was shut down today and shopkeepers went on strike. There was a low-key mass burial
for those killed yesterday. He said Syrian soldiers and security he came in contact with yesterday in the area said they thought it was terrorists who are responsible.
