Rep. Carson Says American Public Schools Should Be Modeled After Madrassas
Rep. Andre Carson (D-Ind.) is taking heat after commenting that public schools in the United States should be based on the Koran. He recently said, “America will never tap into educational innovation and ingenuity without looking at the model that we have in our madrassas, in our schools, where innovation is encouraged…”
Dana Perino said that his remarks give her pause because while there may be some good madrassas, “typically that might not be the way you want your American child raised.”
Greg Gutfeld joked, “Taking back some American public schools to the seventh century might be an upgrade.”
Eric Bolling chimed in, asking, “Look, you can’t say the Pledge of Allegiance because that says ‘under God,’ you can’t bring Christmas cookies to school, God forbid you put a manger scene in front of a public building. This guys wants the Koran as the basis of our public school system?”
