American Airlines Flight Headed to Los Angeles Makes Emergency Landing in Miami to Check Cabin Pressure

MIAMI (AP) -- An American Airlines flight headed to Los Angeles has landed safely in Miami after reporting a problem with cabin pressure.

Airlines spokeswoman Dori Alvarez says Flight 1585 landed at Miami International Airport about an hour after taking off from nearby Fort Lauderdale.

Alvarez said the pilot received an indication of a pressurization problem and decided to land to get that checked out.

Alvarez says there were 143 passengers and six crew members on board at the time. No injuries were reported.
