President Obama Refuses to Apologize to Mitt Romney Over Bain Attacks
In an interview with WAVY, a local Virginia television station, President Obama refused to apologize for his attacks on Governor Mitt Romney. Obama campaign ads claim that Romney is responsible for outsourcing jobs while he was at Bain Capital. President Obama said in the interview, “No. We will not apologize. Mr. Romney claims he's Mr. Fix-It for the economy because of his business experience, so I think voters entirely legitimately want to know what is exactly his business experience.”
Last week, an Obama campaign aide suggested that Romney might have committed a felony by misrepresenting his leadership at Bain Capital in federal documents, which prompted Romney to fire back at the president. Ed Gillepsie, a senior advisor to Romney, defended Romney on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ today, saying, “[Romney] actually retired retroactively
at that point because he ended up not going back to the firm at his time in Salt Lake City.”
