Boston Pastor Abducted in Egypt Offered Himself Up to Spare Other Tour Bus Passengers
A man who claims to have abducted Boston-area pastor Michel Louis and another American woman traveling with their missions tour group says he may release them - along with the tour bus driver, who was also taken hostage - but it would come with a condition.
The trio has been held since Friday when they were taken off their tour bus somewhere between Cairo and Mt. Sinai while they were en route to Israel. Gunman reportedly
surprised people aboard the bus and demanded that they get off. Word is that Louis offered himself to the kidnappers in order to spare other passengers.
The apparent leader behind the abduction is demanding that his uncle be released from an Alexandria jail where he was taken in on drug charges. But so far, Egyptians aren't budging on that demand.
Concern back home is growing, as the pastor's family fears he's not getting the medical assistance he needs to treat his diabetes.
