Father of Victim in Colorado Shooting Speaks Out
Larry Lowak, Jr.'s son was shot at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, but he's now out of surgery. His son has bullet particles that are in his shoulder and stomach. Larry says his son was at the theater with a friend who died after a gunshot wound to the head. Larry describes, "When it started, they hit the floor. He [my son] heard her shouting out, 'I've been hit, I've been hit' and he crawled back over toward her, and he looked at her and saw that, at that point, she'd been shot in the head, part of her face was missing ... He [my son] was in shock no doubt."
Larry doesn't know how his son got out of the path of the shooter, but thinks he could have crawled to safety.
When Jenna Lee asked Larry what's going through his mind, Larry responded, "I really don't make sense of it, it's kind of a blur. I'm happy [my son] is alive. I wish [his friend] was alive. She's not unfortunately. It hasn't sunk in all the way."
