Water Bomb Used to Disarm Trip Wires as Police Try to Find Entry into Suspect's Apartment
Adam Housley reported from around the perimeter of shooting suspect James Holmes’ apartment in Aurora, Colorado. He confirmed that officials have gotten rid of the trip wire threat, but inside the apartment remains significant threats. They would like to put a bomb technician in the full suit but the temperature is so hot, they’re trying to determine whether they should wait until later in the day.
He reported that police say inside the apartment, the set up was extremely intricate. However,
the bombs were not as intricate and more amateur. In video footage, the explosion heard was a water bomb. Housley described that the water bomb was lowered in through the window into the middle of the room in order to diffuse the wires and allow them to enter the apartment.
