Dana Perino: ABC's False Report About James Holmes's Tea Party Connection Proves That 'Being First Is Not as Important as Being Right'
An ABC News reporter has issued an apology after falsely reporting that alleged Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes was associated with the Tea Party.
Dana Perino commented on the rush to report such information saying that a “first-year, freshman journalism student knows you should double check that beforehand.” Perino continued, saying that “it just proves being first is not as important as being right.”
She believes this will reflect poorly on ABC, but also on the media in general, which already has a very low approval rating among Americans.
