Some Victims of Colorado Theater Shooting Died Protecting Others
When gunman suspect James Holmes began shooting innocent people in theater 9, a bullet went through the wall into another theater. The stray bullet hit 17-year-old Mckayla Hicks in the face. Part of the bullet is still lodged in her chin and she’s set to undergo surgery but today she was there for Holmes’ first day in court. Hicks said, “For how much hurt he’s done to this whole state, this whole nation, I mean – I don’t think he’s hurting yet and I think he needs to.”
Trace Gallagher reported that the mother of the youngest victim who was killed, 6-year-old Veronica Moser, is not only in critical condition but she’s also pregnant.
Today it was reported that the baby is fine. Another woman who was there with her husband was injured and is scheduled to deliver her baby boy today. Her husband, however, won’t know because he remains in critical condition.
Among the shooting victims who died was Navy sailor John Larimer who died saving his girlfriend. Julia Vojtsek said of her boyfriend, “He’s just a hero. A couple months ago, John told me the reason why he joined the Navy was to save lives and protect America.”
