How Will Bill Clinton's Appearance at the Democratic National Convention Impact Voters?
The Obama campaign has confirmed that former President Bill Clinton will play a prominent role at the Democratic National Convention making the case for President Obama’s reelection bid. Will Clinton’s role impact in the 2012 election race?
Former Bush/Cheney Spokesman Terry Holt said that Clinton's placement at the DNC could go two ways. “President Clinton presided over a period of relative economic prosperity and it may remind people of what this president, President Obama, is not -- a leader on the economy. The other thing is, remember Bill Clinton was an adulterer, a person that had sex with an intern in the White House, who sold the Lincoln bedroom, so it could go both ways. I think both ways are bad in the end for Obama.”
Former Clinton/ Gore Adviser Peter Mirijanian didn’t agree, saying, “The notion that this president will be anything other than an asset to this campaign at the conventions in the primetime speaking slot is ridiculous.”
