Miranda Bowman, a 12-Year-Old New Jersey Girl, Steers Car to Safety After Grandfather Dies Behind the Wheel
A New Jersey 12-year-old knew just what to do in the face of danger. Miranda Bowman was riding with her grandfather when he died of a heart attack with his foot on the gas pedal. As the truck tore down the highway at 80 mph, Miranda quickly slipped behind the steering wheel, braking and steering as best she could. The truck came to a stop after plowing into some trees and bushes. Miranda, who was not hurt, says she knew what to do because her father is an EMT.
