Miss Teen USA Logan West Details Her Fight to Stop Bullying

Over the weekend, Logan West was crowned Miss Teen USA 2012, and she’s using the platform to help end bullying.

West was bullied herself by a classmate in the seventh grade, and told Gretchen Carlson that she felt tortured, humiliated, and lost herself in the process.

West turned such a negative situation into something positive, and founded the program “BullyProof: Empowering Children Today to Prevent Bullying Tomorrow.”

She outlined 5 tips children and teens can use to stomp out bullying:

1.)Let the bully know that they’re hurting you.
2.)Tell the bully to stop.
3.)Get up and walk away from the situation.
4.)Approach the bully with your friends, but don’t try to gang up on the bully.
5.)Tell a teacher or adult about the bullying.
