Two New York City Tourists Help Catch a Career Criminal
Two tourists found themselves unexpectedly fighting crime during a trip to New York City. Dave and Sam Dixon, a father-and-son duo from Florida, were headed to check out the Empire State Building when they helped catch a career criminal.
The two described the incident on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning. Dave Dixon says that they were about a block away from the Empire State Building and across the street from a 7-Eleven store when they heard a commotion and people yelling “stop, thief.” Nineteen-year-old Sam then sprang into action, blocking the thief as he tried to run by them. The thief then made a quick escape, and bolted down the block before the 7-Eleven clerk was able to catch him. The Dixons then helped subdue the thief until police arrived.

The Dixons give full credit for the arrest to 7-Eleven clerk Lamousbila Lankoandein. In an emotional moment, Dave Dixon said that he hoped that 7-Eleven would recognize Lankoandein’s heroic efforts. He said, “He had the courage and the character […] He’s the hero.”
