JUST IN: Fmr. President Jimmy Carter to Speak in Primetime at Democratic National Convention
The DNC announced Tuesday morning that former U.S. President Jimmy Carter will be speaking in primetime at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. However, the decision is already drawing questions from critics.
Carter markedly lost his reelection bid in what FNC host Gregg Jarrett on Happening Now called a landslide, citing the reasons behind his loss as the same that seem to be possibly troubling Obama's own bid for another term. Jarrett pondered the wisdom in having Carter speak and drawing the comparison between the former and current commander in chiefs.
"I'm not sure about the wisdom [of it], but I guarantee you, or I would predict at least, that it'll be a very short turnaround before we see a web video from the Republican National Committee or the Romney campaign kind of ridiculing this choice," contributed Shane D'Aprile, editor of Campaigns & Elections magazine.
President Carter will be delivering his remarks via a video message.
