Avatars Could Be Greeting You at the Airport
Life-size computer-generated avatars could now be greeting you before you board your next flight! They’re part of a pilot program popping up in several airports around the country, and are aimed at improving customer service.
LaGuardia Airport’s General Manager Tom Bosco spoke to Heather Nauert about the program saying that it’s a way to use a novel technology to answer customer questions, including how to find their gates, baggage claim, etc.
The hologram-like image, known as ‘Marie,’ can’t directly answer specific questions, but instead recites a 90-second script.
