Raymond Roth, Long Island Man Suspected of Faking His Own Death, Expected to Surrender
Forty-seven-year old Raymond Roth, who police say faked his own death in an alleged insurance scam, is expected to turn himself into police on Long Island today.
Roth was first reported missing on July 28. Five days later, he turned up just fine in North Carolina, where a police officer pulled him over for speeding.
His son, Jonathan, has also been implicated in the scheme, as he is the one who told police that his father went missing off a Long Island beach. Jonathan Roth’s attorney claims that he was coerced into the scheme by his father.
