Is the Government "Un-shrinkable" Like Larry Summers Claims?
President Obama’s top former economic adviser Larry Summers says there’s no real way to shrink the government; in fact, he said he thinks it really needs to grow. Is this the truth?
Earlier on Fox and Friends, Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in, saying, “From his [Summers'] point of view, if the government continues to provide entitlements to the same number of people as it does today under the same circumstances, then he’s right - he can’t shrink it. But, if you listen to what Paul Ryan is saying,
for those under 55, they should have a free market alternative; if they don’t have a free market alternative, then the government’s debt by the end of the next president’s term could be $20 trillion. That would be utterly unsustainable.”
